Community Crane Initiative

The Goal: Make 150,000 origami cranes to honor the 150,000 women & men in the United States living with stage IV breast cancer.

3 in 4 women & men had initially been diagnosed with an earlier stage of breast cancer before they contracted stage IV.

150,000 WOMEN & MEN ARE LIVING WITH STAGE IV BREAST CANCER IN THE U.S.

The Side-Out Foundation is looking for 1500 individuals in the Northern Virginia/ D.C. area to create strings of 100 cranes.  After all the strings of cranes are made, we will have 150 groupings of 1000 cranes.

An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods. Our wish will be to change the way that this disease is treated and give these women hope!
